My friends and I recently went to Taco Mama in Greensboro for lunch. The menu is extensive, but easy to read. I got the Build Your Own burrito bowl and it was terrific. Every possible addition, condiment, cheese option and salsa was available, and any and all with no additional cost (yes, that includes the avocado and queso!) and I had to admit, I felt guilty with all I was getting. I said that to the counter person and he laughed and said, "Oh, yours if modest compared to many I've seen! In fact, everyone in the staff was very friendly, helpful and would offer suggestions to compliment our meal. It made us feel so welcome. They have a very impressive variety of margaritas. But if you're not interested in flavored drinks, let me tell ya, their classic margarita is damned fine!! The venue is spacious, easy to maneuver in (essential for thee old dudes returning from the Veterans Day Parade) and the decor very interesting and engaging. This will be the eating destination spot for me any time I am in Greensboro. Make that any time I am anywhere near Greensboro!
I am a creature of habit when it comes to the restaurants that I frequent. Why ruin a great thing! I get the mix & match Tuna & grilled flounder tacos with the chips, salad and queso as my side. Those tacos are amazing! Big chunks of fish and tasty veggies. Their house made chipotle ranch sauce is spectacular. Plenty of places to sit, great customer service and your food is hot a fresh, what more can you ask for?
If you were to ask me a place for Americanized Mexican comfort food, I would tell you come here. This place has been my go-to spot for a while when I'm up in that area of Greensboro. My littles love it too. It's a mix of high top tables and regular tables. Of course the littles love the high top tables. The decor inside is intriguing and I always seem to notice something different each time I visit. I've had catered lunches as well from Taco Mama, and the quantities are plentiful. My usual order is the Yo Mama with a side of street corn. I am getting hungry just thinking about it now. Parking can be challenging due to the number of awesome restaurants in that small area, so patience is needed when planning a visit. If you're wanting authentic Mexican cuisine, this is not your place. But I love their food and always come back for more.
Food was very tasty, the staff was having fun and were all so nice! The young woman who brought our food out (I believe her name was Anna) was so helpful and sweet! We will be back to try some margaritas for sure :)
Everything went really well. The place was jamming with awesome music selections. Families and guests are all chowing down some tacos and burritos deliciousness. I love the beautiful vibes here and atmosphere. Very nice place to eat and mingle with friends and family. Service has been really attentive. Thanks crew again for making it happen.
